Not yet anyway, I thoroughly recommend a plane trip and glacier landing around Mt Cook. I really have holiday blues

I took loads in the plane just in case some didn't come out. Trouble is I don't have a polarising lens, so I'll get one for next year. I took about 250 all in, just around the Mt Cook area, and like you say, just left it on rapid shoot and hope they look ok

easily done these days with memory cards. I took about 250 of just the main castle in Prague recently. Different angles and at different times of the day ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

I think South Island maybe next year
But that plane ride looks a definate must.

I've seen four jobs I can do in Wellington so I might just apply for the feedback
Plane trip was about 110 quid and lasted 1.5 hours, well worth it. I have relatives in Auckland so I stay with them but I always get down south, I love the alps and also Wanaka for the hiking and biking.

I'm off to NZ at the end of this year to climb Mt Cook. Spent 4 weeks last year living on a glacier in Alaska doing some Mountain Leader guide training.
Your NZ pics look identical to Alaska and brings back fond memories

Always seems tragic to move to such a beautiful country and end up living in a ****hole like Auckland. Hopefully you'll be able to move somewhere else once you are settled

PS Auckland still a lot better than many other capitals but most Kiwis want out

Auckland has a terrible traffic problem due to the lack of roads, still a young country and there isn't much infrastructure. But it still beats London hands down, is clean, the people friendly, the only problem is it's too far from the south ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Interestingly the 'thing' for kids to do with their mildly tuned cars is to remove the bonnet entirely and drive around like that. The mind boggles.

Probably Wellington (didn't like it much but being on your own city life will be best to meet people, only other options is Auck and Christchurch but its a bit too dull countryside round there!) and its easy to get over to the south

Live 30 miles south of Auckland and I think its one of the worst cities I have been to
Wellington is good if you can past the earth quakes and weather as bad as UK as well so you would feel right at home

I'm hoping to go back to NZ in a few years as I went there last year on a field trip, which meant we were somewhat restricted as to where we went/what we saw. Still got to do a guided glacier walk on Franz Josef and part of the Tongariro crossing (tho I didn't do much due to a buggered knee). Lovely country, and friendly people too.

I took the plunge and i've been living in NZ for 9 weeks now. I went from winter in the uk to summer out here and it was HOT. I live in Tauranga, which is on the East coast of the North Island - a stones throw away from Mount Maunganui, which has a fantastic beach and so so clean. The water looks good enough to drink. Next time you guys plan a trip here make sure you visit Mt Maunganui - it's a must.
As said, they are 'behind the times' so to speak and are way way behind Britain in terms of industry etc - but it's still a young developing country and it's growing nicely. What you have to remember is, there are only 4million people here in a country roughly the same size as Britain - compared to 60million there. So life out here is much more relaxed.
All in all it's a nice place to live for a 23 year old![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
p.s The rugby is rather good out here too

http://www.citynews.co.nz/webcams/
- the webcams can be controlled by the internet viewer but the person monitoring their usage noticed that the webcam at MT Manganui beach seemed to be zooming in on bikini clad ladies for most of the time. This webcam use control is now limited.
ps - welcome to NZ .... r u on any of the local Subaru sites?

You must be joking, Auckland would be one of the nicest cities around, recently rated 5th in the world.

I live just outside Edinburgh and Edinburgh is a nicer city, that's all I'm going on. We currently have the option to move to NZ at the moment but work dictates that I would have to live in Auckland. Having spent 5 weeks living smack in the middle of it I choose to say no thank you

$1 million house overlooking the beach with views out to Rangitoto and a big swimming pool. Work is a quick ferry ride to the city. Not many places with that quality of life.
