Question

hi all.one of my friend has a my 98 uk turbo.we went to track last week and his car grips superb.no oversteer no understeer and the geometry is standard.also the suspensions are my98 suspensions.he enters corner and puts his food down and the car scoots.then i asked him if he played with the suspension he said no it is standard and it is slightly stiffer than my99 suspension and slightly cuts oversteer and cuts huge amount of safety understeer of my99.is it true???

If you hold down the shift key on the left of your keyboard (the one with the arrow pointing upwards) this will produce a capital letter (e.g. A instead of a). These usually follow a full stop. The purpose of a capital letter is to start a new sentence and say something different.

If you are going to ask questions like this, you should present your question in a more readable way (there is an editing facility, so you have the chance); that way, you may get some sensible replies.

BTW, I would recommend that your friend didn't eat and corner at the same time.

It's time to light the lights, again ...

A driver that enters a corner at the correct speed and exits with the right application of the throttle will not suffer understeer.

Understeer occours when your corner speed (or accel from the corner) is too great for the suspension or the grip of the tyres.

(If have talked poo, I will be notified.)

The SIDC website has a faq with all the differances between the models.

Softer doesn't necessarily mean worse. In the 1993 BTCC race at Donington, Tim Harvey had the softest suspension set up and came from 15th to win the race (in the wet).

Another factor which affects grip is tyre pressures, and loads more factors too.

Dave, chill out. This guy is European i think and his English is probably a lot better than you could ever be in his native tongue.

Was that in the Renault 19 if my memory serves me correct?
Are you an English teacher by any chance?

Is it true if I paint all the struts on my RB5 different colours it will corner better in the wet but worse in the dry, and even better somewhere over the rainbow!!! However if I paint the calipers a different colour it will slow it down unless the caliper is of a lighter shade than the nearside rear strut which has to be darker than the front offside, all theoretically in the real world of pretend driving of course!!!!
