ECOTEK CB26 anyone got one
reading leaflet today on the ECOTEK CB26 and it has been trialled by Prodrive and claims to increase power and increase mpg...sounds too good to be true has anyone fitted one?

I would be reluctant to fit one of these to a Subaru unless it was officially endorsed by Prodrive (or any other reputable company).
They may have trialled it, but does it say that Prodrive said it is safe to use on a Subaru?
A friend of mine fitted one to his Rover (don't laugh) and it was detrimental to fuel economy.
IMO a decent remap = more power + better mpg.

NO NO NO..
Go was your mouth out with SOAP!
They are a waste of money, the company was taken to court recently because its sales claims were bull****.
They are totally useless, especially on cars with EFi..
This site is starting to scare me

Quite a few people bought them from a group buy on here about 5 years ago. I fitted one on my 99my, didn't do any harm and as it only works off boost didn't notice much in the way of better MPG If at all, it would benefit normal aspirated cars more. I've still got it so I might fit it to the wifes Primera one day and see if she notices any difference.

Have been using these for a number of years, (just moved it from car to car)
They have worked and improved mpg on Peugeot 405 1.6, Peugeot 307 Xsi, Citroen Xsara Coupe VTS & Ford Scorpio 2.9 cossie.
They do not work on an impreza or with and other car with a turbo, unless you never drive on boost!

No your correct, Jesus wouldn't be stupid enough to waste his money on a placebo.
IMHO fitting one of these devices is not only a waste of money but pretty damn stupid on a turbo, your allowing extra air into the combustion chamber without the AFM being able to measure it.. Which means a leaner mixture.
Detonation anyone?.

I'm neither one way or the other with this device, but I do believe it has been known to work on normal aspirated engines in varying degrees.
