Question 3 rear diagonal seat belts?

Do any Imprezas have 3 rear diagonal seat belts for the rear seat?

- If so which year did they come in? 3 kids so don't like using lap belt on regular or long trips... - not got cash to spare for newest Impreza , contemplating Legacy Turbo also...

Cheers

thanks guys...

I got a rally specialist to look at my 97MY to see if they could add in a diagonal belt for centre seat but they reckon it is not possible So change of car required to make full use of 2nd vehicle...

Cheers

I dont know why a rally specialist would know about a rear seatbelt - he was probably shocked to see rear seats in the car lol.

I'm surprised you cant fit middle inertia reel seatbelt. I'm sure I've read threads where newage interiors have been fitted to classics and I'd have expected this to involve the middle belt too ? Maybe have a look on a newage and find out where the middle belt mounting points are. You may been to reinforce the area where the inertia belt is mounted but I should think it would be possible...

I've seen some newage imports with only a lap belt in the centre.

I doubt the rear shelf on a classic would be up to the job for supporting the inertia reel for the center belt.. You could always go down your local scrap yard and get the reel, belt, fixings and latch from a late Omega and retro fit that..

But to be honest theres nothing wrong with the lap belt?

There are in an 03 Wagon so I would imagine there is in an 04.

The reel is in the off side rear quarter near the rear side window & it threads through a special loop fixed to the centre headrest.

I thought a rally specialist might be able to help because I assumed some strengthening might need to be welded in - also they rip out interiors of brand new cars and have plenty of spares - which I also thought might include centre seat belts that they could modify and fit to my car... - but apparently not

Need to look at a newer car myself & see... Thanks for the replies

cheers
