Ask the vendor for the applied model number (model code) which he'll find on the VIN plate.

Then compare said number on here (2.11)

You can see the window winder on the passenger side door in one of the pics and there are no leccy window switches to be seen on the drivers door in another pic, i think it's safe to say windows are manual.

As above there will be no ABS.

It doesn't have a sunroof either but it does have the roof vent.

Not definite about the red manifold but seem to remember they weren't red on the very early models as these were taken from the standard production line by STI and then modified. It wasn't until later on when they were made as an STI from the start that they got the red manifold.

It looks very clean.

Intercooler spray and no ABS is correct.

The inlet manifold should be red. Maybe STi ran out and used a non-painted one when they built it (that sort of thing did happen).

It should (might have been removed) have the FIA emblem on the boot, and it obviously has the numbered plaque because they are saying which number it is.

The Model code should be GC8C4ED for a 1996 STi 2 555

went to see the car,it generally seems in good condition, but not outstanding as advertised. The front offside wing has been sprayed again by a 3 year old, because the paint has dripped everywhere.
Also the car has an i.c.spray switch?also some people have said it should have a red top engine, since the car is very low miles i am thinking the engine has been replaced at some point,as the trader doesn't seem to know much, apart from the fact it's a road rally car.

It looks right to me. Correct colour, correct seats, fifth injector, waterspray bottle- and many of the STi2's didn't have red inlet manifolds.

Can't see the dccd roller but my eyesight's rubbish as I have my contacts in.

Maybe a touch expensive though... but it does seem to be very low mileage, and the interior looks pretty good condition.

Sport Blue (aka BAT Blue) wasnt a series-production colour either...

Yes the car definatly look like a Genuine STI RA. It has all the features a RA should and Should,nt have.

The V2 RA STi should NOT have a Red inlet manifold due to the Fifth Injector which sits on top. I havent seen a STI RA with a Red one to this date.

Please see www.stormmotorsport.co.uk/index2.asp?w=1024 and click on their DEMO CAR to see the exact same car which is a Genuine STI RA V2.

Very fast acceleration cars Mate. Price seems reasonable aswell. Cant go wrong with them but top speed is low geared around 130ish so i reccomend no TOP Speed challenges.

Thanks

i've bougth it,its awesommmmmme!!! the chassis is alot more responsive than my previous sierra rs 4x4,and the acceleration is fantastic.
One of the first things i'm thinking of doing is getting the car rustproofed.Correct me if i am wrong but imports don't have undersealer-do they?i can't seem to see any underseal on the inner arches or underbody,so a couple of cans of waxoyl should do the trick.

That would be an ideal start.

Out of interest - does it have DCCD?

What fuel are you going to be running it on? (super unleaded + octane booster etc.?)

As pointed out above, some version2's have them, and some don't. I've had both.

That's not an RA. It's a V2 STi 555. Limited Edition

Has roof vent & DCCD but it's not an RA.

V2 STi RAs were only availble in white.

It's still techically an RA though, exactly the same as an RA just in blue with a couple of extra badges, electric windows and air con. Same lightened panels etc.

This car is definatly a V2 sti 555 Special edition. Its not a RA.

STI V2 RA also do come in Blue.

The car clearly has the Red intake manifold without the Fifth Injector, Has Original Sideskirts, Fogs and most likely will not have the DCCD Either.

It also wil have STI Gear Ratios not the STI RA very Short Gearbox ratio. That is the main difference between STI and STI RA. Aswell as the deleted extras and Lighweight Items.

Thanks
Ash

You are correct my friend.

But it's not an RA. It's an STi 555.

I'm not saying it's better or worse, I'm saying it's not an RA.
