Everyone will have their own opinions on this, there isn't a 'Best version theres a version 5,6 which have crystal headlights, different bumper and grille but are mechanically no better than earlier versions IMO,the interior of an older version 4 is identical to the later ones with the version 3 having the early dash.Pay your money and take your choice.Just make sure its an STi version with DCCD of course the version 5,6 do have re mappable ecus though which may be an advantage

I have a Version 5 Sti and I think them and the V6 are the best. Dont pay extra for a V-Limited as you cant drive above 30mph with that roof scoop up!

I translated the Jap warning sticker on them!
Plus I have heard of them bending and breaking off at speed!

There are two door type RAs!

My personal choice would be the 22B!

Suprised no one's pointed you in the direction of this...

Type R Corner

Anyway, V5 or V6 gets my vote.

If you end up with a Ltd or V Ltd version, and are worried about the vent breaking whilst driving with it open, just to add to what the other guys have said, I've been about 50 - 60mph in mine with it open, it just makes a hell of a noise and collects lots of flying insects in summer, which can be a problem if its a wasp or bee that ends up in the car

Not too sure why a Type R would go better than a 22b though

Controversial - dear old Leonpoole has started calling his 2door WRX RA an R to avoid constant challenges.

"They've put the wrong sticker on" is a favourite. Mr CyprusScoob up the top there has always struggled with the notion of a 2door RA .

errrr why?

less grip, less low down torque, lower peak torque, less rigid, narrower track, no quick rack as standard?

Only thing I can think of is wide wings of 22B give it a worse drag coefficient, but I haven't seen it measured.

Every performance quote ive read has always said the Type R is quicker than the 22b i think the Rs are lighter.
