I would agree it sounds a bit OTT, but i'll give them their due, they know what works.

I would expect them to have been rounding figures up, a wee touch though.

On several seperate occasions I had a go at a Subaru dealers mechanic when I caught my car in the workshop with my IC being used as a tool tray whilst my car was in for warrantee work

Which resulted in me in painstakingly straightening the fins out and the car never being touched by another Subaru mechanic ever again.

Same heavy handed feejit mechanic also broke the vacuum fiitting on the air bypass valve (DV ) and smashed the casing on the alarm siren.

Must admit it is so tempting to put stuff on the ic whilst working on it, but people who work on these day in day out should know better.

 

What is with the extra hole in the bonnet? Very odd.

 

WRC look because the wrc cars have a front mount and the air exits the car that vent after it's been through the intercooler. On that car it's completely pointless.

I was away to ask exactly the same, look like it tee's off in the centre section to a second outlet. still has the back box too

surely all you need to do is turn up the boost, have you never heard of the fact that in reality a turbo with a limit of 340bhp can be pushed to 400bhp?


realy you can, honestly.

 

Surely if the 'limit' is 340 that's it? Otherwise it wouldn't be 'the limit'

 

If you look at the phot, you'll see it tee's into the intermediate pipe. If you look closely at the stubby outlet you can see a black actuator. This opens a flap valve in the stubby, gas takes the path of least resistance and exits via the stubby. Normal exhaust for street use, stubby exhaust for max power.

Mind you, its a flawed dezign because the stubby tee's in at almost 90 degrees, which is not helping the path of least resistance (even if there is an internal deflector in the main pipe).
