Windscreen wipers...
Just wondering what people deem to be the best on here and why they're at it if they know what size the classic takes and a good place to buy them! Mine are smearing big time and need a change I think...
Cheers

always found Bosch to be the best, Halfords is my best bet to get them. Seem to do the job and last a while.
Only thing i found is that if you have an import, the wiper size doesnt match the set they sell in halfords. I had to measure it and buy individual blades. Maybe this was just a one off, does seem odd though.
Hopefully just a dodgy one off box.

Bought a set of Bosch myself at the weekend for my classic from the local Subaru dealers. 18.5" for the passenger side and 20" for the drivers side. This was the full assembly and not just the blades. Total price £10.45 including the vat.

Just bought a Bosch set for my 05 STi. Passenger blade in the pack was to big. The packs are 22/20 I think, going on the chart. The passenger one has to be 17"
So buy seperates, not twin pack.

have had bosch on my classic import for 2 months now, bought forn halfords £17.50 for the set, with the spoiler (they were the right size, didn't have to buy seperately). Personally i'm very impressed with them.
I've often found that smearing, (as against missing bits due to wiper wear), can be cured by giving the wiper blades a good clean with the back of a dish sponge, (the green pan scrubber bit), liberally soaked in a good degreaser like Mr Muscle Orange.
Then do the screen with the sponge side, same degreaser.
Also pay careful attention to the screen surface at this time of year....mine has tree sap on it, and I NEVER park under any trees. Go figure

Hi
In our experience PIAA worth it every time, as they last 2-3 times longer and performe brilliantly.
As said above you get a sachet of silicone to help disperse water at high speeds ( very effective )
They are available for all model Imprezas front and rear.
Always in stock

Try using piaa wipers without adding the "special" wipe to your screen and then try tell me that. Once you have the right answer - buy Rain-X and a set of bosch

I have used the piaa without the wipe and after 14 months - still no beading. The claims IMO are ****e.

Do the wipers move freely on the arm?
I've just remembered - my car has 2 year old piaa's on it
They do last well but that's what i would expect for the price. Maybe they might just be worth the money, but they don't coat the screen in silicon
How much are a set of Bosch these days? Out of touch with wiper prices i am
