Default Will i see a difference with prodrive

I will shortly have a Prodrive fitted to my WRX , the question is will i notice the change in performance.?

A couple of days ago i had an a tussle with a Evo 340 , it did not lose me but I certainly was not gaining on it , but hopefully when i have the prodrive fitted it will improve my ability to stay with the Evo ( I hope!! )

Dunno what year yours is, but I certainly noticed on my 05 (after all, why else would you get it done, apart from the noise!).

It'll certainly help you chase down Evos.

Be sure to post your findings on the PPP, after all someone will do a search one day...

Cause you will notice the difference, The bhp gain from the prodrive is the total bph of some cars on the road.

I certainly hope you will notice the difference ! I am going to get it done to my WRX in the next week or two .... having owned a similar powered turbo some years ago I remember what that was like when 'chipped' - chalk and cheese spring to mind..... and that didn't have a lovely burble to go with it!!

took delivery of a brand new 05 WRX Prodrive less than three days ago - obviously i cant rake it yet until i get over the 1000miles mark but my MY95 WRX which i still have so far seems alot faster - seems really more aggresive when its nailed

i dunno maybe new car needs run in (only done 499 miles - ex demo)

would this sound right?

cheers

i had the PP on my uk300 - wouldn't want a wrx without it, although even with it you would have no chance against a 340

I've found the further you go the better the car gets. Now covered 7000 miles in mine and its a different car to the first couple of thousand. Dealer reckons 10/12,ooo before you get the true performance.

A mate of mine had the PPP fitted to his 03 wrx a couple of months ago.

TBH, I'm not that impressed with it and I was expecting much more for £1600!

I have an 04 wrx a was planning to get the PPP but now I think Ill go with an Ecutek via TSL or Powerstation. Seems thay offer far more bang for buck and you also ave the advantage of being able to add to the mods afterwards if you go ecutek etc as you get the license and subsquent remaps are just charged per hour.
If you get the PPP, there isnt much more you can go for (at least I think thats the case).

Obviously there is the warranty stuff to consider blah blah but personally I think I'm gonna take the risk.

I had a modified/remapped Audi 1.8T quattro before and Audi never detected those mods even when I had it in to diagnose a fault with the running of the engine under warranty.

the ppp is great if you want more but also want to keep the warrenty protection. if you are not bothered there are more cost effective ways of modding as mentioned above e.g. ecutek etc

As stated in my other post, I had my MY01 WRX ecutek'd yesterday at Powerstation and the figures you need to know are:

Power: Up from 222bhp to 258.3bhp
Torque: Up from 280Nm to 347.3Nm

The car is a completely different animal and for not much over £500. I also spent a couple of hundred on other mods in prepearation for the remap.

Backbox
Decat centre section
Green panel filter
uprated fuel pump

Still, a LOT less that the £1600 for PPP and similar power gains. With PPP you also get a generic PPP map loaded into your ecu, it isn't a custom map modified for your car, fuel type, etc.

A 230 (ish) BHP Imprexa against a 340 MIN Evo, You kept up..??

Either

1, he was a propa poo driver

or.

2, Your telling porkies.

When my WRX was standard it was pant's and a 340 would have wiped the floor with it

Of course you will notice a difference with PPP, but the 340 would still eat you for breakfast (with equally skilled drivers)

Well I certainly noticed some difference after my 05 WRX was PPP'd but it wasn't mind-blowing and actually was a very slight let-down.

But saying that I probably don't drive it hard enough yet to appreciate it. I'm working on it
