There were only 200 yellow sport specials and 200 black sport specials. Ltd edition colour and turbo seats. I actually really like the seats becuase the insets are an orangey colour rather than the usual grey.

Tried to get a black one for the misses but very hard to find at reasonable money - almost higher price than same year turbo in some cases!!!!

the seats are they have yellow panels in them to match the car, and a matching ****

my passenger seat is bent on the door side, not sure how this happened or how to straighten it. if i had a fat passenger in the seat i would have to grease them up to get them in

marc.... there are loads of differences on my car compared to the '00 model

got some info on the sport*************** Subaru's sporty spice

From the archive, first published Wednesday 28th Jun 2000.

Subaru's new Impreza Sport Special is not to missed it's available in any colour you like as it's either Black Mica or Cashmere Yellow, writes David Duffy.

Meanwhile, the Sport Special's interior features high-backed Turbo front seats with bright yellow accent panels front and rear.

Based on the Impreza 2.0 litre Sport AWD saloon, the Sport Special also benefits from air-conditioning, high-rise Turbo rear spoiler, leather-covered Momo steering wheel and white-backed instruments.

The Impreza Sport enjoys the active safety benefit of all-wheel drive plus a charismatic 125 horsepower 2.0-litre engine, anti-lock brakes, driver and passenger airbags, four electric windows, alloy wheels with 195/60 tyres, large front fog lamps and an immobiliser.

On-the-road price for the Sport Special is 1,000 more than the regular Sport saloon at 16,500 and production is strictly limited to 200 in each of the two colours.

I'm not certain about this, but although in theory you can significantly change a car and reregister it as a kit car. I think it will be required to go through Single Vehicle aproval (SVA), which is the mother of all MOT tests.
Could be wrong
