what would it be best spent on?
This is purely extra engine/power mods.
On my bugeye WRX, I have an Afterburner zorst system, decatted from turbo back, soon to have the pre turbo up pipe decatted too. I have a JR panel filter, Ecutec remapping and a bailey vta dump valve for what its worth

Currently boosting at 1.2bar.
Now, due to a low compression cylinder 4 and misfire on the same cylinder, my engines coming out and being opened up. When its put back i`d like it to basically be quicker. My new passion is the 1/4 mile strip if thats any use to you.
So, 1.5k to spend on mods, which ones though? FMIC? bigger TMIC? Turbo? fuel pump? injectors?
help and sensible suggestions required please
ta
Cliff

I think it would be uprated top mount for me with injectors and perhaps a TD05 turbo? That should pump out about 320 odd bhp I believe with the other mods you have plus uprated fuel pump and regulator.
With the engine being opened up it would be nice to uprate internals though. Maybe forged pistons and stronger valve springs for a higher red line - don't know about this to be honest - just guessing here.

That leaves you with £600 for the remap and injectors plus other goodies. Turbo choice is a tough one though - I know there are trade off's to be made between driveability (not too laggy) and out right power.
I am sure someone else can advise on the turbo.

Exactly Ben
Mines already got suspension mods, brake mods, exterior mods, interior mods etc, why do I need an STi

My power at present was read at 247bhp/266 lb of torque, but with only 3.5 cylinders

One thing, I would have thought that a remap would take care of any turbo lag though?! Maybe Im an idiot though

I'd go for a front entry TD05, front mount and remap
Your injectors are fine and can deliver plenty of fuel for what you need, anyone telling you different is talking out of their ****

i'd go for:
VF34 - £470 (new)
uprated intercooler - about £400
Andy f tek3 remap - about £650
Actually that is what i went for on my my00 turbo, mapped just over a week ago at just over 1.3bar of boost and it's a massive improvement.

if all you want it for is the 1/4 Cliff, you know the funny gas takes priority
That way you can maintain a well set up, no lag car with a smallish turbo, and when you want the extra grunt for short bursts, whack the nitrous on
job done.

Looks like I was wrong to include the old uprated injectors in the suggested upgrades!
The couple of lads I know running uprated turbo's have uprated injectors also - sorry for the mistake Cliff - will try to avoid talking out my **** in future.
At what point do the standard injectors becoming limiting? Can't be much over 300bhp surely? Also is it advisable to run the standard injectors right up to 100% capacity? Bit like the situation with standard fuel pumps and remaps on the WRX. Should be okay or definately okay?
Hybrid TD04's (Andy F) are available if you don't like the sound of a TD05.
Regarding TMIC or FMIC. Unless your doing track days etc where the engine is under heavy load for long periods or doing high-speed runs then is it really worth spending the extra for a FMIC? I know you can get FMIC's for not a lot more than the TMIC's, but performance does vary quite a bit between the low and high end stuff. A decent FMIC would be a very big chunk of the budget. No denying they look great though.
It's all discussed in details here:

standard bugeye injectors are 380cc, to go over 300bhp safely it will require an upgrade....and when i say safe, i mean with a small overhead, not by upping fuel pressure....
