Default Engine Check Light

Hi
Last night i fit an exhaust on my car i left the keys in the ignition.
Went to start the car after fitting exhaust turning over but not starting.
I then noticed the check light was not coming on.
I have disconnected the battery to reset the ecu still the same, also
checked if i caught any wires while fitting the exhaust nothing.
and i have charged the battery still the same.
Please could someone help

Does the alarm do anything if you blip it?Has it got a key or switch to disarm it. Just to eliminate it as the cause really.

still the same after disconnecting the battery.

with the black and green connectors which you use
to reset the ecu would that method work because
there is no power going to the ecu
that is why there is no cel light when you turn the
ignition on.
