Its an entry level WRX Coupe; the STI is a superior car and easier to find. All G Series (V6) two door WRXs are rare though.....

Cheers Simon - I'm familier with the spec (though not your definition of superior ) I just can't find any owners to complete the set in the RA ltds thread. Surely there must be 1 or 2 owners in the UK.

Is your info straight off the SIDC FAQs page or Ravendsblade or do you have "the" book? The more research I do the more contradictions I find.

 

The plaque in mine actually says its a v-limited

I import cars from Japan (actually from Japan, not a dock auction, which is rare ) so I have a number of references. Ive just looked on the SIDC FAQ page and their description for the GC8-E-F-G-27Ds is the same as mine.

For that Id have to look at Chris Rees' book; which is snided with errors.....

 

Ravensblade do not list the RA Vltd - despite a gaggle of brochures. I've come to realise that there is no definitive guide to the Subaru Model range!

 

Bear in mind that handling characteristics are far more likely to affected by front LSD as opposed to an open differential; rather than by the torque split, which Ive always understood was 50/50 on all cars not equiped with a DCCD...

Two of my mates have the WRX Type-R V-Limiteds that your all talking about! One is parked right outside my window now! Not as good as my WRX STi Type-R though, although they do have the Roof Vent!

 

A couple of points.

WRX Type-RA V-Ltds (non-sti, GC8F27D) is the variant that we're all talking about and they DO NOT have a roof vent. Go and get your book and come back to us with the torque split on said model and you may just redeem
yourself

My mates Type-R's are the NON-STi models. Although they do both have the roof vents.

According to the book, there are only 3 Type-R models:

WRX Type-R
WRX Type-R STi
WRX Type-R STi V-Limited

I would go take a pic of my mates one outside, but I don't know how to post pics up.

 

Just too add, all the pics in the book of the original brochures for the Type-R WRX, show it as having a roof vent!
