Default Weight of 05 WRX? (Gtech Pro SS)

Just got a gtech pro SS thingy, and it reckons my WRX (ppp, prodrive springs) is making 279 bhp at the wheels.

Now, I'm all for thinking my car's ace (it's red, which obviously is good for at least 10 more horsepower... ) but that's way too much.

So, I've got the weight wrong.

Anyone actually weighed one of these properly? If so, please post the weights together with vehicle details and any additions - all types if possible, but I'm only interested in one like mine obviously.

Sorry if it's SIAL, but I did search without any luck.

Cheers Neilo, that looks like the info from the subaru site - not sure how accurate this is (adding my weight resulted in the reported 279 bhp...).

Maybe I'll have to try my luck at the local truck weighbridge thing.

Ru

So you made the move to the Newage then..... was it the choice of the baby?

My 04 Wagon was RR'd a PE earlier this year. I know rollers are a bit hit a miss sometimes, but I was hoping for as close to 225bhp as possible.

When the graph was produced..... 260bhp/249lbft and that's from a standard car with just a Ninja BB

Having talked to a few people on here, it sounds like there's a few Newage's that are pretty much standard, but are well above the 225bhp mark.

There's an outside chance your Wagon is putting out close to that figure.

J.

PS. Did changing your HU invalidate your warranty?

Hi Squadron-Leader

You may be mistaking me for someone else? My WRX (non-wagon) is the first scooby I've had (had it since end of Jan), and (luckily) have no baby (unless you consider my girlfriend, who's a babe. Hang on, I don't want to seem like a pedo here, she's slightly older than I am...).

Was that figure at the flywheel or wheels?

I guess I need to stick mine on a RR, maybe the next group buy near me.

I'm waiting for the dealer to get a new rear shock for me under warranty (diagnosed by them when I complained of clonking from rear near side suspension), so they didn't try and blame it on the HU! I'd guess the warranty is intact.

Ooops sorry...

I guess it's the fact I know a Rupert from Brighton who's got a classic wagon. I've not seem him at a meet for a while.... so put 2 and 2 together.... and though it was you! (I need more pills I think)

Flywheel I think, as 260bhp at the wheels would be outstanding for a standard WRX Wagon.

Stay baby free for as long as possible. It's a nightmare trying to mod a Scoob with a baby.... they just drain the finances!

Is Gatwick your dealer? I'm hoping to change my HU next month, but don't want to upset Mr Warranty.

Have you been to an East/West Sussex Scoobies meet?

J.

And there was me thinking I was the only Rupert scooby owner in Brighton!

Yeah, Gatwick are my dealers. Apart from the Mitsi 'Charisma' (not) courtesy car they have been great.

I've been to one East Sussex meet a while ago, and I was there for the run from Pease Pottage down to Brighton when the Essex (?) crew came along (around 70 scoobies was some sight!).
Maybe we'll meet at an upcoming meet?

Over and out,

Ru' (not the only Ru' in the village!)

Roger... over and out.

Why on earth do you think Subaru would be wrong? I'm sure they don't spend millions on the development of a car and then don't know the exact weight.

Did you add the weight of the fuel?

I've never used the G-Force meter, so I don't know what other settings there are that could affect the outcome.

lol, I'm trusting the results of an ebay purchase as opposed to subaru uk!

They state the kerb weight is 1395kg - what does this include? I'm not sure.

The yanks have something called GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) which they apparently quote - this includes passengers!

Plus, I've got a different HU, 'speakers, iPod interface, PPP, springs, flaps, rubbish and other stuff in the car which will affect the weight.

I know some people on here have actually weighed their car, so I was asking if they could post details.

it wont be including passengers, at least it shouldnt. id hazard a guess at literal kerb weight, without fuel (or minimal fuel)

they are heavy cars. Either way....id bin the ebay junk, cos it sure as hell aint doing anywhere near its job.
