Why do people list things like electric windows and all wheel drive.

Not a dig at you Christi, it just makes me giggle when i see cars for sale and they list the most silly things as "features".

i.e all wheel drive on an impreza
electric windows on a newish bmw/merc
4 door on a 4 door car

No doubt will giggle again on the way home from work as a drive past the cheesiest car showrooms going.

Back on topic, you can get the imports a lot cheaper than that i think.

Maybe it's just me but I shyed away from an import and bought a totally standard UK '01 WRX.

£25k for the STI seems ok value, although you can get one brand new for about £26.5k, possibly still with free PPP (?) plus you can try and drive the price down a bit. Are the mesh grills, Front Bumper Under Spoiler, etc standard on a UK STI? Also, does it have a tracker fitted, I'm sure new UK car's do now as standard, they're worth £400-£500 as well?

DCCD-A for the new models. A = ABS.

No getting away from it - £1500 quid will buy you a brand new one of almost identical spec - except of course the mileage, service history and owners

Do you really need a diff guard and mesh grilles? Prodrive springs you could probably get in the deal, plus some money off. Suspect everything else is bog standard (maybe check the under bumper spoiler but I think you'll find that is too). Plus the tracker subsciption is included for the first year from new - it isn't transferable. Unless the above gets heavily discounted, it isn't worth it IMHO. We havent' even discussed the warranty is a full 3 years on new also.

Also think the -A in DCCD-A is for automatic. ABS is on those cars too.
