Standard WRX - 225bhp
Standard Sti - 265bhp
UK300 - 225 + 40 (ppp) - 265bhp
Some Insurance Companies are less user freindly on Imports than others, shop around for the best price. Imports from new don't tend to have a Cat 1 Approved Alarm, so you will need to budget for this, if not already done so.
Some Insurance Companies will also give discounts for cars fitted with a Tracker.
According to the spec sheet for the WRX300, the PPP is a standard fit. Saw it at the weekend when my car was in getting a new front left tire (some bloody nail).
I was also rather dismayed to hear the PPP is now a FREE option on a new WRX, atleast in my dealer. Oh, if only I'd bought the car now instead of 9 months ago. Hey ho.

The original UK300 was a bugeye special edition around 2001, and had assorted cosmetic type modifications, but the same engine as a standard WRX at the time (218PS = 215bhp) - many were fitted with the PPP of the time (around 245bhp, I forget exact numbers)
The latest model is badged Impreza WRX 300 - not UK300. See the subaru website. The WRX 300 is fitted with the PPP as standard i.e. 265PS or ~262bhp, as well as a few cosmetic etc mods. New WRX's and STi's come with free PPP "from participating dealers". Standard WRX these days is 225PS = 222bhp, STi is 265PS but with a very different engine and power delivery etc to a PPP'd WRX - also grippier chassis and better brakes on the STi. PPP'd STi is around the 300bhp mark. (I forget the exact number)

Was this a maketing ploy by IM/Subaru..? We'll never know, there were quite a few people who bought them though who thought they were getting a 300bhp special..!
