Just fitted my New boost gauge to MY94 WRX and i'm getting -21 psi when idle and normal driving it's 0 then boosting it's 10 psi..
That sound right?
That sound right?

Sounds about right to me (if I can remember, I think my standard MY94 WRX was about that).... apart from the fact I didnt think you could have negative PSI! lol Not your fault, but just the guage!
Regards,
Shaun.

sounds about right, my STi3, read -20 vacumn pressure, and a blip of throttle read 0, and boosting read about 12Psi, with my limits being about 16-17Psi
In the early days of mapping these cars (back in 2000) I was running circa 1.2-1.3 bar on stock engine apart from exhaust, induction and re-map. It was running circa 270-280bhp.
Hope this helps.

I might invest in an electric booster but will i need a remap at the same time? What is the safe PSI for my car? 15?

anything in the air flow to your turbo will created flow restriction, you can't get a 12v dc powered electric booster to run anywhere fast enough to supply pressurised air into the turbo and when starting to boost your turbo will be restricted by the flow through the electric "booster" there may be some benefit to to electric booster on normally aspirated cars. Boost controller is a different matter.

try one off these its a cheep fix to get 16psi
hi mate, the car is standard apart from a full 3" decat, apexi induction, earthing kit and the boost controller. it runs 1.35 no problems on optimax with millers. the vf23 has a limit of 1.4 bar so as long as you keep below that it will be fine.
