Question Whats this? Looks like a sensor...

This has been on my car since i got it. It looks like a brass sensor for gauges, theres a braided hose that comes off it. I dont need it on the car and would like to remove it. Plus it appears to be rubbing on the ignition leads. Does anyone know what type of plug/bung is originally there?

looks like an oil pressure or temperature sender. Must be mounted on a braided line because there isnt enough room screwed onto the block.
