Quick engine q
been to look at a scoob today to buy. engines been rebuilt but cars only done about 5 miles since this has been done which was about a month and a half ago.
is it fine to carry on driving now, would this make no difference as it has yet to be run in or even used at all for that matter ?
at what point should there be an oil change ?
thanks

its on a 98 car, altho im just being wary about everything.
i know they had piston slap, my old one did, but it could also have been ragged by a previous owner and gearbox may have taken a ramming in its life.
what would be replaced/changed in an engine rebuild ?

anything from new shells, bearings thro' crank, rods, pistons, etc.................
if we had built it 'fresh' then an oil change at 1000miles would be on the cards and then we normally recomend every 5000miles after that.................
