Default MY07 Impreza - Auto Express today

Picked up a copy of Auto Express at Lunchtime. It has the photographs of the 2007 Impreza, which will be a hatchback, offering engine sizes of 1.5, 2.0 and the Sti producing 300bhp.

It looks like an Alfa 147 with a Subaru badge.

Undecided!

The only reason I can think of is that they are sharing the platform with another car in the group. Any other smallish hatches that would suit the profile?? Also saves the dilema of the functionality of the estate or the style of the saloon.

The scoob had to go, as it breaches the new pedestrian safety regs so an FMIC was always on the cards

Click on the picture of the magazine on the AutoExpress site on the other link - it makes it larger. The picture on the cover looks very SEAT-esque to me... not keen myself...

In the picture of the magazine. If you look closley, you notice that the front seats in the car arent the same.

That picture is basically an alfa 147 merged with a Seat Altea. In the article they mention the designers roots as being these 2 companies. Either he ran out of ideas for the design and copied his last 2 or its a blatant photoshop.

Quite frankly that is the most ****-poor excuse for a front page article I have ever seen!
Earlier comments about the Daily Sport are unfair to the Daily Sport. At least it knows that it talks complete **** (quite literally most of the time) and doesn't try to pass itself off as serious journalism.

Nice photoshop picture on the front. Looks like it was knocked together by some 12yr old in MS Paint.

If its going to have a FMIC why does the picture show a bloody great big scoop on the bonnet ?

Dont think its going to look anything like the front cover, except for the crap grill that is.

It's such an atrocious photoshop it's not even worth talking about....but I will anyway!

The rear looks like a new Ibiza with the spoiler from a STi reduced to fit, it just looks pathetic. They say it is official Subaru pictures/announcement, although they couldn't actually quote anyone from Subaru.

The talk about it being built on a cut down Legacy platform but that it is smaller than the current car. Can you cut down a Legacy platform that much????

Also why on earth would you put a 1.5 engine in it and where is the supposed 2.5 engine.

Look at the rear wing FFS!!

They've stuck a Prodrive (hens tooth) WR wing on the top of an STI4 wing and then bunged the lot on the back.
