Hi
Recently installed an all-in-one Dvd player, screen etc....and it has the option for a tv tuner and i was wondering if i brought one, could it pick up sky?, i've seen some tv tuners @50 and @£200 is one better etc..
Cheers!

Yes you can pick up Sky in your car. The only downside is that big **** off sattelite dishes are really un-aerodynamic!, plus you can't drive around or you lose the signal.....

Technically speaking though it would be possible to have a dish on some kind of motorised 360 degree turntable which automatically kept the dish pointing in the same direction regardless of the orientation of the car ?

dont see what the issue with freeview would be, and the pioneer box is tiny.
sky could potentially be received if somene locally has a video sender unit for transmitting sky around their house to all tvs, but obviously there is no guarantee of this.
You may find when tuning that you can pick up odd sky channels already from surrounding houses that have done this, but this kind of set up in someone's home is not just rare but also illegal in this country due to the frequencies that the units use being reserved.

get a dvdr record the 5 most annoying commercials you can find. then find a 30 second clip of "friends*". play 0.1 seconds of friends* then skip to the commercials and repeat. filling the dvdr with this you have a perfect emulation of sky tv in your car. added bonus of no arial or subscription fees.

You would need a motorised satellite dish on the roof that constantly rotates to 28.2 degrees east of south or to maintain a compass bearing of 151.8 degrees constantly to pick up signals reliably. As well you will have to avoid going down any steep hill that faces the opposite direction else you will lose it.

you can get dome sat receivers that can be used on the move. and also 12v digiboxes.
not cheap though.

Given that we can't even pick up freeview in our house with a bloody massive aerial, you might experience some receiption problems occasionally with freeview, but most of the time, providing you avoid the hill we live on, you should be fine
