I’ll second & third that.

As some of you may or may not have read about my misfortunate incident I had in my P1.

Read the story of how efficient Tom @ Schofield is when you need to make a claim at

Just to point out some will know this man as Rum on this board.

My P1 is now insured as well with Tom. Insurance is £80 cheaper than it was two years ago with the STI V, and Ive had a fault accident since as well.

My P1 is also fully loaded with all except one P1 upgrade.

In this day and age with all the press reports of 25% increase in premiums Toms come up with the goods and after seeing Robs recommendation I went with him.

Well, we are always quick to put down a service/supplier/merchant etc. as soon as we are disatisfied with them. But very rarely do we give praise when its due.

So im going to break the habit and start off by saying what a top bod Tom is at Schofield insurance. Just when you think it is all over for the medium performance car, someone like Tom comes round. He has consistently topped requests and has beating quotes by sooo much that i often think there is a mistake. Always there for when you have an enquiry (i just caught him at 10.30pm in a pub in cornwall at the beach to ask if i had insurance to cover me for belgium!!) I have to say you MUST give him a go if you need competitive insurance and just a down right decent guy to work with. He works differently to JOE BLOGGS insurer and marks you as a person, not a statistic, so you guys with insurance probs, give him a call.

Ok,
enough praise, where is my cheque

Thanks guys...just back from Cornwall where I've been sunning my bod for the last 9 days. Sorry to all who have tried to contact me at the office for P1 quotes....everything will be back up and running as normal early Monday morning!!

To those that had my mobile no...well what can I say...I'm just glad that you all caught me at a realatively sober moment...the latest call...and not mentioning any names ...was...11.45...you know who it was/is!!!....and no it wasn't you Blowdog!

Anyway, always about to try and assist.

Keep the P1 quotes coming...the more we get on board, the more bargaining power I have with the insurers.

All the best.

Thanks again for the comments - they really are appreciated.

I recently posted a question about AXA insurance. Blow Dog (Cem) kindly suggested Schofield.

So, dutifully, I rang them explaining to a chap there that I had a standard UK Turbo Impreza. No sooner had I got the words out of my mouth he said if I didn't have a P1 then I shouldn't waste any time getting a quote from them. Something to do with the unique nature of the P1 and Schofields relationship with a particular insurer!!

Oh I also said the best quote I'd had was £646 and he said they hadn't got a quote less than £1000.

Pity Tom was on his hols!!!

Jason,

Apologies for being away

Alas, with regard to quotes I have arranged special terms for P1's...and very occasionally STi's. The insurer is Independent Insurance and the rates quotes to my firm are restricted to just ousrelves.

However with regard to the standard Turbo model...I confirm that alas I am not competitive (unless either eGuard or Trackstar have been installed)....and my staff have been told on numerous occasions to point the client (politely) in the direction of either NFU or AXA, as at present we have found them to be the most competitive (however I am sure that there are other companies who are cheaper).

Rather than waste the clients time in asking loads of questions, only to quote a figure considerably more than one they have already received from elswhere, we have found it easier (for both parties) to just accept that we are not able to compete and thus point in another direction.

Once again apologies if they appeared short with you.

If you have a name for the employee you spoke to please email me on tom@schofieldinsurance.co.uk and I will take it a little further with him....maybe better telephone manners

Once again, apologies for not being able to help in this instance.

All the best.

Tom

Cool

Basically every case is looked at individually - with the minimum premiums being £850.00 for the very best risk...i.e I'm just not competitive on Standard Cars - however higher risk, i.e. P1's, Std + PPP, WRX, STi, 22B etc with the appropriate security i.e. Trackstar 24 Hr Guardian, Tracker 24 Guard & Recover or eGuard are worth looking at.

Best thing to do is mail me with as much information as you can...

1. Full Security including any mechanical devices (wheel clamps, barrierlock etc).

2. Drivers including experience of performance cars.

3. Renewal premium/target (realistic!!!)

4. Claims/Convictions/Disabilities ever!! (not just last 3 years!)

5. Full garaging address/postcode & if used for commuting then work postcode/security details also.

6 Anything else that might be relevant.

In all cases I will try to look at personally and will advise whether we will be competitive or not.

Look forward to emails from you all in due course.

Cheers Tom

Rum, are you able to do a quote for Northern Ireland? One thing guaranteed to wind us up on this side of the Irish sea are all those adds for cheap insurance where the small print reads "N.I. not included", you'd think it was a foreign country or something. Cheers mate.

Unhappy

harryh..............

Well you're not going to believe this...but unfortunately....having asking Independent Insurance whether they would offer a quote to you, in Northern Ireland they declined!!...when asked why, they basically just said ..."just because we don't want too offer a quote..."

So alas I will not be able to assist on this occasion.

Sorry...but thanks for asking/enquiring.
