I've removed the one from under the car after a job and a half and replaced some rear suspension while in the process.

Next job is to source a tank/bag to replace it in the boot of the car, either in the boot or in the spare wheel well.

Does anyone have any contacts or know of anywhere that specialises in these.

ATL or Premier do a variety of fuel containers, either off the shelf or moulding them to fit particular shapes.

If its just a small cube cell to fit in the boot then go direct to ATL or Premier.
They should be IRO £400-500.

For about £1200 I can source a proper WRC underbody tank with dual 044 pump set - if you're going down that avenue.

The trouble is that ATL point you directly to DT. in the UK as they are their agent.

The tank is p/n Sub80, basically an 80l tank, the only thing i'm not sure about is if the tank is the same as a basic £400 one or if it has additional fixtures & fittings with it???

 

the trouble with a "bag tank" is that you need various covers, pumps, gauges, enders, etc. to go with them...................so you often end up with around the £2000 mark for a proper job...............

the subaru one you've looked at will be shaped to suit!!

The cube tank prices I have quoted are for IRO 30-45 litres, not the full 80 litres.
Premier will supply direct though.

As Alyn says, if you still want have 80 litres then keep to the std one under the car.

The tank design caused problems with fuel starvation at times and i thought i could scrub some weight off the car by replacing it.

Also i'm trying to make an almost identical replica WRC car and i believe they and all the other competition subaru's have the tanks in the boot too.

 

Here's a recent WRC tank - it fits in space of std tank and has a guard at back.


And here's the pump set that goes in it - this should cure any starvation.

those pumps look nice with the filters, they do look expensive when combined with a WRC tank and cover

decisions, decisions, decisions........

This pump set is brand new and I believe they retail at about £3000.
New tanks with all fittings are IRO £7000

How "identical" do you want your car as it could get very expensive to be totally authentic.

If you're bothered by fuel starvation, the cheapest option is the STi fuel pump set up that has a mini tank around the fuel pick up so fuel is kept where its needed on a standard tank, TBH fitting a bag tank is a touch overkill even for a WRC rep, plus you're altering the CofG putting it in the boot, you could always try a swirl pot in the boot using the standard pump as a lifter pump, and an external pump on the outlet of the swirl pot to feed the engine.
