Whats the most power anyone is running from a Type UK sti 7/8 engine with other mods like intercooler, injectors etc, but std sti internals?

Thinking of buying an engine, but also thinking 2.5L conversion...

 

We do engine conversions upto 450hp on the STi 7 & 8 cars using standard internals. 450HP is probably on the brink of reliabillity though, 400 is plenty fast From then on the turbo required to reach above that figure becomes too laggy for the 2.0 litre. The 2.5 litre USDM block allows bigger turbos to be used but has its own inherrant problems when pushed beyond 400HP.

 

Hey Conrad, I was looking at the 500 bhp mark and was told the 2.5 conversion could do it...seems if I do 2.5 L or 2L Sti engine, I'll be best going for uprated internals then.

I've got a bigger turbo than any VF...rated to 450 bhp, but think I could get my 500 bhp target with 2.5L and FMIC, water spray, water injection (which I've already got) and big jets.
