Thats perfectly normal on a 99/00 MY car, start getting worried when you do see some knock correction. I was seeing about 0.5 degree of knock correction whilst my MAF was on it's way out.

Positive knock correction means addition f timing, negative means retardation.

The value you see on these Model Year cars is knock correction not ign compensation as you would see on a new age btw.

Thanks for the replys.
Bob I am getting no correction at all. Just a while ago I plugged it into a friends N/A Forester and there was lots of Advancing and Retarding happening when it detected knock just by reving the car when static.

Just I noticed a while ago that when I couldnt get any optimax one night that when I put some normal crap fuel in there was no correction at all, and I thought there should have been.

? maybe

Thanks
Gavin

Thats not necessarily an issue, depending on what advance multiplier its running no visible correction means its a happy bunny "at that level", as I mentioned this will only be seen in reaction to knock, its not the compensation values seen on new age cars, also Forrester ecu rom code has MUCH more sensative built in settings and runs a higher compression ratio to boot.

I don't get any knock correction on my SECS monitor either (fitted to MY99 PPP) and was a bit dubious as to whether it was working correctly. Then again, my knocklink rarely ever lights the second green LED so it's probably OK.

Cool

Im the opposite,I do see knock correction on an my02sti when it under load.ie uphill & may be in a to low gear.I assume this is the timing being retarded to account for det/pinking?

I also never see more than two greens on the K/L

Thanks For the Replies.
Just a bit worried that the sensor isnt working. I have tapped teh block with a screwdriver and still got no reaction. Maybe I will have to get it scoped for a signal.

Thanks
