Ask the Calder Motor Company (http://www.caldermotor.co.uk) which is a local major importer of Japanese cars. They should be able to point your friend in the direction of a suitable garage/technician.

Hope this is of use...

Just take it to Falkland Performance Centre, only around 20 mins if that from Edinburgh.

Dave,

I asked the same question when I bought my WRX and the majority recommended Falkland Performance Centre in Glenrothes. I stay in Cumbernauld and I take my WRX there and it's worth the trek! These guys are superb and really know their stuff!! I would wholeheartedly recommend them.

Thumbs up

I'll recommend them too then
Took Scooby there and they kept it in good hands while they changed breaks (4 pots), lowered Scooby , and knew what they were talking about.
I only had one problem and that is there job estimates... the estimates for both my car (Scooby) and my sisters Wrx (she takes it there aswell) turn out to be different from the estimates given, but the job they do is really good.
If you want things done right, they are the boys with the tools required.

I used a guy in Edinburgh who just setup and hired a couple of ex Subaru Mechanics. Not too bad price wise and very helpful. R&J Tyres 0131 538 3828 ask for Ronnie, I know it doesn't sound as good a setup but I found him very helpful after getting ripped off by a guy in Stirling. He's got an Sti himself.

Cheers

Yeah R&J Tyres should also be a good bet.

They are an independent garage that do a far bit of Subaru work.

The local dealer here (Lothian Sports Cars)closed down about a month or so ago.
A few (not sure how many) of their mechanics are now employed by R&J tyres, so their Subaru training should be up to scratch.
