Default Just ordered my new 05STi in white. Advice required.

Hi all,

Have just ordered my new STi for March 1st in white.

Firstly, what do you guys think of the colour as I still have the option of changing it for the new crystal grey.

Secondly I have recieved conflicting information on the tire and wheel sizes.

What size wheel does it come with as standard is it a 7.5" or 8" on 17's? and what is the stantard tire size?

Also what size tires are fitted as standard on the Prodrive Flowline 18" wheel?

The reason I ask is I have to make a decision on wheels today and need to do some shopping around.

Also any side on pics of new age scoobs with your 18" wheels would help me greatly. Am also considering a white wheel on the car???!!?? Any recommendations? I was sure oz used to do one but am struggling to find them now.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Regards,

Dan

White, nice and different. Someone on here has one.
Grey, awfull - the colour of street furniture.
Black, bloody nice.
blue, nice.

It's a very personal thing...

Thanks guys!

Phil.... no wonder you were so quick to post, she's a beauty! by the way is that the official subaru twin headlamp conversion? If so whats the verdict on performance? Also how do you find your bumpers handling parking bumps and scrapes as I am dreading loads of black streaking on the white as I live in central London!

Hi Dan, I'm also just ready to take the plunge! Did you order through a UK dealer? If so what sort of deal did you get. I'm just trying to get the best deal possibel before I commit. Wouldnt mind having a chat. I love white but thinking of going silver myself.

IMHO Go for Crystal gray, esp with the wheels as above photo shows.

Yep its the offcial Subaru/Morrette Headlamp conversion and I LIKE IT. the light is no worse / no better than the standard item IMHO

No bumps or scraps touch wood

I do keep the rear clean because the road salt seems to stick !! Nothing a Swissol Clay Bar didn't remove when I first noticed. Now its regularly waxed I don't have the problem

Dan

The std wheel is now an 8x17 fitted with a 225/45x17 Bridgestone RE070 tyre. The 18" option for the 05MY STi is an 8x18" P-FF7 fitted with a 235/40ZR18 95Y Michelin Pilot Sport 2. The load rating (95Y) is important if you are comparing prices btw.

The OZ wheel is 7.5x18" and not suitable for a 235/40 tyre so we haven't had them done in the new PCD other than a few sets for testing.

Regards

Mike

Mike ,

is the flowline wheel in my dealers an oz wheel or is the flowline the same as a P-FF7?

Dan

The flowformed wheel we have made for us by Speedline in the P-FF7 (Prodrive Flow Formed 7 spoke!) and the wheel OZ make for us is a 10 spoke.

Generally white cars have a lower resale value, dont know why though? Loads of cars are silver/grey at the moment, therefore will the market be flooded in a few years time and lower there price?
