TSL 333 OR PPP ? Comments please
Ah ... this brings back memories (see here). Hope the thread/info is of use.
In the end I went for nothing and am currently happy with the cars performance. Mind you with insurance coming down this year for me by ~£500 the moral dilemma maybe about to start up again.
Hmmm, re-decorate/wire my flat ... or ... upgrade the car ... decisions, decisions

I have the 333 on my car. It makes for a great car and as a couple of friends with PPP and other upgrades have said the car pulls hard when theirs would be flat.
IMHO if i had a UK car I would PPP it. The diff between PPP and 333 is there for sure but only when you drive the cars back to back or come up against one somewhere. Not noticable enough to throw a 3 year warranty though
If I had a euro car or little of my three years left then I would be tempted to 333 (or equilvilent)
The only problem other than warranty is that when you come to part ex the car with a main dealer (other than subaru) they dont recognise the 333 or any other mod come to think of it and struggle to take the car off your hands, because they cannot put it on their forecourt with their own warranty on it. Its worth considering for the long term.
I still love my 333 though

I looked at the TSL333 and decided to buy on STI PPP. The 333 isn't worth the loss of warranty and the headache of selling it to a dealership. Plus selling back to a subaru dealership you get more money for having a PPP certificate. The 333 is better performance wise though.

Would you really want to give your Scooby back to a dealer though? Chances are they'd give you relatively little money for it. Better to go private, where the 333 might be more desirable to those in the know! :-)
At the end of the day, its your car, you have to live with it, you take the conversion that you are happiest with. You have to accept that you're going to loose money on a car, so you might as well make every endeavour to be as happy as you can be whilst you've got it.
Warranty may indeed be the key factor here though.

New Scooby 04.
I hear what your saying but its nice to have the choice of what to do with your car. Scoobs are not selling privately so dealers with good deals on new cars etc are sometimes enticing. A 333 car is not desirable in their minds and because to them its just a modded car they wont touch it ...

i made my choice,i was unhappy with ppp for several reasons, rang prodrive told to reset ecu-no response even dealer said they would look at it but they chose not to.
a week later drove the tsl demo car, within 2 miles knew i wanted it purely for driveability alone never mind the extra power and bought it.i knew if i had not i would have sold the sti as i was getting p**sed off with the jutteriness, poor around town response power coming in late and suddenly etc but must say the 05 sti ppp is very close to the tsl for driveability
re warranty i know of at least one wr1 owner who has had his car remapped,i at least waited for a year but as they say horses for courses-test their demo car and your mind will be made up!
