Un-plug the electrical connector bock, unscrew the sensor , fit the new one connect up and away you go. You may need to reset the ECU if this was showing a fault code.

You need a 22mm spanner. Unplug Lamda/fit spanner on to lamda by threading wires through ring on spanner/tighten slightly to break any rust/loosen and take out. If new Lamda is Subaru type then reverse procedure. If universal type then you will need to crimp new lamda wires onto old plug.

Not much room for spanner in area, so choose your weapon carefully, you will probably dent turbo heatshield also in your efforts. Then gives you an excuse to take this off and adjust the preload on your turbo actuator whilst straightening the heatshield

Note that quite a few phase 2's (my99/00) cars had overtightened sensors from the factory, causing the thread to bind. If yours is one of these, you'll need to remove the downpipe and use thread lubricant squirted on the inside thread to free it up. I'd suggest seeing whether you can free it up with a spanner before anything else
