Default wheel cleaner help

does anybody know what the main dealers use?

whenever they clean my car the wheels are sparkeling and it only takes 10mins to wash the whole car.

it takes me around an hour to get the same effect (just on the wheels).

is there a magic spray to just spray on and wash off?

your help is needed

I have seen my garage use it, spray it on wash it off, 2 mins later all grease dirt have gone. He told me its extremely corrosive when not used in the correct dilution. Dont leave it on the paint or some painted calipers for too long.

Edit I have just spoken to the garage and the cleaner is generally called Alloy cleaner, it comes in bulk drums . He will find the proper maufacturers brand name later.

I use Autogylm 'Clean Wheels' followed by MER 'Wicked Wheel Wax' on my MY04 alloys.

Last time I cleaned the car I spent almost 2 hours doing the wheels properly. At the next clean I just used the wheel cleaner, followed by loads of clean water, follwed by a good drying and finished the job off with a good buffing using a Halfords 'Micro Fibre cloth.

Wheels came up a treat, look sparkling and only took about 20 minutes

The Autogylm stuff does discolour the standard callipers. You have been warned!

Maguires "hot rims" I spray all 4 wheels at the jet wash, then immediately jet them from about 2 feet away, to avoid damage by getting too close. All brake dust etc gone and wheels immaculate again. Do a search and there is a site that sells it for £6.99 with free delivery.

You let the garage clean your car?? They just use high concentrate chemical cleaners - does your car no good at all! I watched my local dealer (Tileys) clean a car with a big brush. He the put the brush on the floor to get the next car to clean, picked the brush off the floor (complete with grit etc) & carried on cleaning.

Wonderwheels

Use it once a month on the wheels and calipers....stinks to high heaven but does a good job.

Just do not leave it on too long....

And what ever you do, don't use the alloy cleaner on hot or warm wheels as it "cooks" the stains into the wheel.
