Default MY05 WRX Euro Import, PPP & warranty

Folks,

I'm contemplating buying a Euro import WRX from Litchfield or similar and have a question re: PPP and warranty. If I buy one without PPP fitted to start with and have a PPP UK dealer fitted after 1000 mile service, will the pan euro warranty cover the car with PPP upgrade? and will a dealer service the car?

Also, any other gotcha's or bad experiences when buying a new Euro import??

Cheers.

hi m8 and welcome

it is very hard to get a uk dealer to fit ppp. you may get lucky and find a dealer that has some bits and made a kit up or even removed ppp from a car. you are supposed to take the car to the counrty is was registered in. so the only other route is to tek3 it and void the warranty.

Thanks mate. The follow up question then is...I believe Litchfield (and probably others) can get a euro with PPP fitted (presumably by euro dealer??).

Can this be serviced by a UK dealer? assuming not.

Cheers.

yes, servicing isn't a problem.

If your getting a euro import, wouldn't it be cheaper, easier, and better just to get ECUTEK?

not sure, I'm not an expert but will take a look at the link, thanks. Is this just an ECU update?

I'm also thinking about warranty cover hence PPP but not sure what other options are....any advice much appreciated

I'm also looking to get an EU MY05 WRX - my understanding is that the benefit of PPP is that it doesn't affect the Subaru Warranty ?

The point is they don't want to risk loosing their 3yr warranty!

Talking

AFAIR PPP can be fitted to EU cars. it has to be done by a Dealer in the Country of Origin if you bought it in Holland the holder of the Warranty, Dutch equivelent of IM, one of there dealers Have to supply and fit it. IIRC

Your best though to Email Nick Walesdon or Mike Wood at PRODRIVE for the definative anwser as anything we say is really a guess

Maybe not the cheapest Bang per Buck but well worth it to retain Warranty IMHO
