Quick MPG question
Had my first scooby just over a week now, its a MY02WRX with WR Sport rear silencer.
I dont know much about the fuel consumption with these cars, although they do like to guzzle the fuel.
Put £30 worth of SUL in and got about 150 miles, is this good, average or crap fuel consumpton.
It doesnt bother me either way, would just like to know what everyone averages.

Sounds about right - although there seems to be quite a lot of variance of what everyone gets - some reckon they average about 170 to a tank, others say they usually get around 300.

29mpg
I get 29mpg with 300miles to £40 quid of SUL.
I drive a 04 wrx with ninja back box and sti panel filter, also most of the driving is on the motor way.
If i fill her up with £40 of optimax im lucky if i get 200 miles, but she does feel faster so maybe i boot her a little more.

03 WRX - Ninja Backbox - Green Cotton filter
£20 of SUL usually takes me 110-120 miles which on current fuel pricing returns between 22-24mpg. This is regular stop-start commutes with a 3mile motorway stretch inbetween.
I've noticed short journeys to local Tesco store during lunch periods kills economy overall for the week by about 2-3mpg.
However during Summer using aircon only returns 18mpg for obvious reasons.

) 97 UK Turbo is exactly the same using Optimax

I have done short trips that I am sure are around 10mpg (110 miles / tank), but that involves the sort of driving that is not encouraged on UK roads.
02WRX with numerous mods (exhaust, ecutek etc). I believe the mods on my car make it more economical on the cruise than as standard. Of couse, when I boot it, the extra 70bhp does involve burning more fuel!

When you condider that a Ferrari 360 is supposed to average 12mpg, our Subarus' don't sound to bad, especially when they keep up with one!

Of course, 360s are renowned for not handling . . . Mid-engine, rear-drive, instant throttle response etc, all from a company with no idea what a sports car is about - recipe for disaster, really
