Wink

I like the username lol!

R U having a dig at WR1's cos you'll get hung for it on here even though your JDM is better than a WR1. The difference between a UK Spec STi PPP and WR1 is like the difference between a WR1 and JDM STi IMHO.

Top bloke Iain Litchfield and I would feel far happier having a warranty with him than a UK spec with IM.

Got to sort out my username, I know - I did order a WR1 and cancelled to go down the JDM route - each to their own...wasn't knockin WR1 owners, of course!....

must say the miltek gives it a great sound, not the normal UK scoob burble which I was concerned about losing, but something equally as good in a different sort of way. I have had a spec c roller bearing turbo stuck on mine as well - which should take more of a battering on the track and makes some interesting noises itself. Am still awaiting the AST coilovers which are on order, but the standard suspension and beefed up roll bars work pretty well - hard but not unbearable. Handling (allowing for the 4K rev limit) seems very point and go. Haven't ragged it yet to know if the old understeer has gone, so will have to wait. Overall, well pleased. Is that bit more refined over the old P1. Roll on £1K, 1st service and the AST's........

Do let me know how you get on with the AST setup - I'm more than happy with the handling on my car, but the ride is pretty unforgiving. It definitely feels firmer than the MY04 I test drove despite both cars having the same Eibach springs fitted.

If the AST kit makes it a bit more comfortable without wrecking the handling, I might just have to make a trip to see Powerstation's new workshop...

what about dubbleyahhhh whan to whan of ahhh cazzz! (poor japanese accent!)

more...?....almost 350 miles on the clock - was raining this morning and the RE070's are a bit fresh and slippy....parked up in Bham centre last night - got out of the car and within 2 minutes some bloke asked if he could take a picture of it with his cellphone...(was rather glad it was a phone and not a gun!)..still cant work out how i'm to fit my header unit which appears 5mm wider than the hole ?? (are header units all one size or are there weeny ones for the JDM cars ?)...seems to attract the racer boys...had no end of zetecs and saxo's with blue neons chasing me around stuck to the back bumper...bloody nuisance...(can still pi## all over them and stick within the 4K limit)...realised why people said I shouldn't go for black...its filthy...on my 3rd day of ownership and it's still awesome....

I have a SECS monitor in the top DIN hole and a single DIN radio in the bottom DIN. From memory yes it was a very tight squeeze but it did fit. I think it went in without the cage supplied as it would not fit, just screwed directly to cage that makes the double din slot.

BTW I have a MY03 JDM STi.

p.s. Had to read your Jap slang a few times there to follow you lol!
Damian.

My car's filthy too - though the mud flaps seem to be helping a lot.

I've been sticking to a half-throttle limit too most of the time - I can't wait for the 1000 mile service. Only 430 miles to go now

No problems at all with the grip from the RE070's, though even with the softer springs the suspension is so hard that some of my former favourite roads are now a case of hanging on for dear life rather than enjoying the ride! Maybe I need the Type 20 package after all...

A standard single-DIN head unit should fit provided you remove the surround, let me know if you need pictures to show how it goes in. I let Curtis @ Powerstation fit mine and he did a superb job.
