Default ??????????????????

I have been told that certain cars cannot be imported anymore such as Skyline R34, STi Type R, 22b, etc etc.

I was going to import an STI Type R V6, but after looking into it, wasnt able to do so because AFAIK, there are no model reports for the 2 door STi's. Your friend will have to find one thats already in the UK (or pay for a model report to be done...£££'s). Im sure if he looks hard enough, he'll find one that he wants here in the UK. There is a 22B for sale at Gibsons of Brock nr Preston, its a Jap model and it has 37,000 miles on the clock, they want £25k. I had a look but its too many miles for me, but it does look mint!

I approached a few importers and asked them if the could get one in for me... and guess what the answer was?

NO!

If you want more info, I would have a chat with Simon (GC8 on here) as he was the one that gave me the advice about it all.

Happy hunting.

Hello

Id say that there is nothing stopping you from importing one but that registering one will be difficult. The E-SVA test will require a comparison test / model report and one doesnt exist so far. Im not sure of the cost but it will certainly run to over £2,000. When the comparison test data is submitted to the Ministry you are asked whether youd like to rent out the finished report; if you let it be known in the approproate circles that a 22B report is available I suspect that your investment will be quickly recovered..... Btw; youll need a 22B Type UK for comparison I think, so you may need a partner.

I honestly dont know but Id have thought not; now if it were the exhaust brakes or suspension itd be easier to answer. The best advice that I can offer is to suggest that you ask a tester at your local testing station and see what his position is.
