can any one help,,,my wrx had them silly wind deflectors on and i pulled them off ,but it left the backing on (double sided tape) ,any idea of how to get it off thanks

 

Try some thinners maybe? fairly sure it wont do any damage to paint work

 

try heating them up with a hair dryer or something and some elbo greese

Not sure if that would work.


I wouldnt try thinners as it will dull the paintwork,and it will probably make more work trying to polish it out again.


A heat gun (or a hair dryer I suppose) is the best thing,but once again care is needed to not damage the paintwork/plastics by holding it in one place.

dont i know ,tryed everything ,apart from our lassies hair dryer ,thought of trying tar ang glue remover but cant find any...

 

autoglym do a tar and adhesive remover, might work?

 

Ive tried petrol,wd40,polish,spit.......even thought of ***king on it.

A little comes off at a time,but without burning/heating it,not much happens.

Boiling water does help you get 1mm off every minute.

 

been picking at for 3 weeks and it doing my head in....

 

Took me ages too and i actually found that i had damaged some o fthe paint pulling the deflectors off.
Best thing i found was hairdryer + believe it or not lynx deoderant!

I tried a lot of things to get them off my car - bloody nightmare!!!

In the end, I got a local bodyshop to take them off... better than ruining your paintwork.

The Autoglym Tar Remover didn't work for me... didn't remove anything!

 

how much did it cost?

 

Try T-CUT or Compound plus **** loads of elbow grease and it should be off in no time..!
