Cool had a tussel with a supra 3litre TwinTurbo....

.... last night. had it up 4 sections of 70mph duel carrage ways seporated by islands. i killed him upto 80, then he just caught up and took off. i was well impressed by the topend power.
Pulled over and had a chat. apparently his was well modified and he usually wipes the floor with scoobys, he started the conversation with 'jesus thats quick off the mark what have you done to it'.... lol.
ps. i drive a lightly modded 97 turbo.
anyone know the performance figures for these cars?

Si

A whole host of Supra drivers were my bitches in the Bournemouth/Poole area when I owned my STI Type R (310bhp)

Of all the cars I had a play with, I used to love taking the jam out of the doughnuts of Supra drivers.

You could see they were thinking; 'here we go, another scoob to thrash', not on my shift w4nker bolloxs!

I fully intend to do the same in my newly aquired 996 (I only posted to tell everyone I've got a Porsche)

I bimbled past one at about 71mph on the motorway the other week

The Supra owner must have taken umbrage at my old lady-like driving and floored it for all it was worth

Never in my life have I seen anything squat and squirm under acceleration at that speed before and then disappear into the distance

Never did find out if he saw me furiously waving a white flag

lol at the white flag.
this supera had a mahooosive wing and jap style 4" exhaust. he too only started playing when i over took him (and about 5 other cars at the same time)

we have the nova/corsa squad round my area. i find it funny to come out of nowhere, overtake and undertake when they are racing eachother and dissapear into the distance. last night i did this but was with the supra. the drooling look on there faces --- priceless.

We had a convoy of 5 road going scoobies and wasted the SUBARU WRC car up the autobahn!!!!!

It is official 5 standard road going Imprezas are better than a full WRC car on the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The WRC probably has seriously reduced gearing and topped out at just over 100+mph.

That would be fun though

There was one at Motorshow with a spec sheet next to it, IIRC the top speed in a WRC is about 120mph, but then you're right, it runs out of ratios. They don't half get there fast though. I think they have close to 600Nm torque, which results in phenomenal acceleration, e.g. 0-60mph <4sec.
