Question What`s a `JIALING`?......

Got the log book for my `Subaru Impreza WRX` from the guy I bought it off, (it`s only just been registered in this country) and under `MAKE` it says JIALING. Under `MODEL/TYPE` it`s blank. ????????????? Spoke to DVLA today and they said it`s not a problem, just send the V5 in with a little note explaining that it`s a Subaru Impreza and they`ll amend it. Just wondered if anyone had heard of it before or what it means/stands for?

I think it could be a type of scooter.
Sounds cheap, nasty and possibly Chinese!

WTF...whoever the DVLA uses for their data entry is really messing things up!

We have 3...yes 3 V5's come through for our Honda...it's been a few weeks, so another is probably due to come through soon

We than had a road tax reminder come through with the old registration (on retention)

A bike I've just bought has had the v5 come back with the original owners name and my address

The retention certificate for the registration plate that we transfered off the honda and put on retention was sent to the old owners address (which he kindly forwarded) Then it came back still with the old owners name but our address. Now we're waiting for it to come through right (fingers crossed).

I wonder if those guys off Dirty Sanchez work part time at the DVLA HQ

Yes I must admit I was a bit worried at first but even though it says `Jialing` under make, it also states it`s a saloon, 1990cc,2 axle rigid body and the date of first registration also matches up to the VIN number so all being well it`s a **** up. (Hopefully!)

Sounds like an input **** up at DVLA, suprisd that the importer did not get that sorted first though! when I bought my WRX there was a digit wrong on the VIN on the V5, had been like that since first reg. I just changed it on the V5, sent it back and got a new corrected V5, didn't think it would be so easy!

Rang them this morning and although the girl wasn`t too helpful she did say if the VIN matches etc, it`s an error on their behalf. If I send them V5 they`ll amend it and send it back. (probably come back as a John Deere or somethingthis time!)
