Help with getting rid of viruses
My old man is having problems with norton anti-virus. It detected viruses but says it cannot delete them. I think it states something to do with permissions on the files. His login to XP is as a administrator so he should be able to remove files ok right?
I am now getting two different Virus Alerts flashing up, these being:
Norton anti-virus has detected a virus on your computer
Object name; C:\windows\java\v.bat
Virus name; BAT.Trojan
AND
Object name; C:\DOCUME~1\graham\Locals~1\Temp\Nav1.tmp
Nav29.tmp Nav33.tmp Nav35.tmp
Virus name; W32.Netsky.P@mmlenc
Anyone help, nothing obvious on the symantec site and I can't get to his PC to have a look properly.

For the first one, turn System Restore off.
For the second one try Stinger from McAfee http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger
Have a go with those two suggestions, let me know if it works.
