From Peccys ad;

"The "disabled loophole" was closed as of 1 April 2004, so only STI 6 Imprezas for which SVA tests were pre booked prior to 1 April 2004 will be able to undergo SVA test without a model report. Therefore, we will not be able to buy any further STI 6 examples for stock until a model report becomes available."

So I just thought that it is the same for the version 5

Nope they have a model report on the version 5, and as far as I know you can import a Version 6 anyways.

I know of model reports for an STi v5 but not an STi type R v5.

If anyone knows where to get hold of a model report for an STi type R (any version!) I would be interested.

In theory it should be possible for a few peeps to club together to get a model report - need to set up noise and emissions testing (probably cost £2k-£3k but once done all standard cars could use it). If it can be done the model report can then be hired out for use to try to get the cost back. There is a risk though - if it fails the tests, another wedge might needed to be stumped up to put it through again...

gravelexpress,

Was the SVA test booked before 1 April 2004? If it was booked before then, even if the actual test happened after that date, you do not need a specific model report. If the test was booked after 1 April, then please tell because this may indicate that the SVA testers are not being as strict as they might choose to be - which was always a possibility!

Thanks in advance

it was puchased December 03 in Japan - but not pre-booked for SVA.

Ooops sorry just realised I wasn't reading your post properly!

Nope they have a model report on the version 5
Do you mind me asking who "owns" this model report, and do you know which chassis codes it covers?

Sorry again for the twenty questions
