Why get launch control? do feel the need to do a full blown standing start at every set of lights? When you've grown out of the "I've got the fastest car" age, perhaps you'll come to master a sensible driving tecnique.

Launch control, startline strategy.. is cool
You will need a ecu mapped to do this..
Motec, Autronic can both do it.

Learn to launch.
Main problem is your clutch, which once slipped finds it hard to bite again. But method for a fast launch is something like:
Handbrake on
Clutch down
Bring the revs up to about 4-5000 (find the best point for your setup)
Bring the clutch up to somewhere near where you feel the bite point is
To launch, lift clutch and depress throttle simultaneously.
The imporant parts are the revs used and the amount of travel already on the clutch. If you lift the clutch too much you risk bogging unless revs are quite high. If you start with clutch right down you will get more bite on the clutch but the revs will get more chance to build as you lift the clutch.
Launch control takes many forms, and it's not just a system to build boost. The moetc for instance has a speed dependant rev limiter which will cut the revs if you exceed a certain amount of slip. At the same time, allowing lots of air (relative to idle or even revving in nuetral) by cutting the revs with a limiter, means the ability to spool the turbo on the line. The Pectel ECU can control not only the rpm cut, but also the fuelling for cut cylinders, the target boost while stationary and the allowable slip, all while ensuring the exhaust temps don't sky rocket.
But if you just want to launch a more or less standard Impreza, you're better off learning to do it the cheap way.

well, there is the hand brake release too!
TO be honest, although it sounds complicated, it's very easy to do all those things at once. I don't actually make any concious effort/decision to release handbrake, but it's always off by the time I've got the throttle at 100%
