I visited my local dealer on Monday, and he told me about the new model. Apparently, the current model is out of production, and they're just selling off old stock now. There are no WRX SL 5-doors left.

He showed me a couple of pics which he'd got from www.subaru.co.jp

The pictures show no obvious external changes, but there is a revised interior.

The dials on all JDM cars are now electronic, lighting up in stages, and doing a full sweep on startup. All now have full climate control, compare to the semi-automatic that we get.

We should be able to start ordering them from about September, I believe.

Makes sense - the top of the range Legacy now has electroluminescent dials which do the full sweep on startup.

More interestingly, will they bring an auto as shown in the piccy to the UK?

That centre console is the same as the Saabaru.

An extra cup-holder, some new fancy heater ***** and an updated ashtray are hardly worth chopping your existing car in though. New shape (exterior) is pegged for 2006 release AFAIK

Hello all, my first post as I have not yet joined the brotherhood.

What would you do if you had just ordered a shiney new black wagon WRX SL for August / September delivery??? . I think I would want the updated version as the resale will be better and you have to admit the new dash does look the dogs.

If you really want an 05 model It would be worth getting your dealer to put down that you want an 05 car in writing and having your acceptance of the car being based on that. There may well be some 04 models left in September and so it's best be safe before it arrives and the pressure is on to take it. You might have to wait an extra month or so just to be sure.
