Question £539 for extended warranty?

Seems a bit high to what i have read in the past? Never mind, Ive just forked out for the subaru warranty as IMHO its a good deal at this price if i have to use it. (P1)

I agree, any extended warranty is worth it, especially with high performance subarus. You always have that peace of mind aswell knowing that if anything major goes wrong, your covered!

I have just bought a MY00 and they have offered me an extra years warranty for about £330. Would i be better to buy this now or wait until my current year is up?

Thumbs up

Take the warranty...

I refused one for mY99 classic and one month later had a new gearbox for £1600 and then 4 months later bill for £3,456.75 for a new short block and other bits

Hindsight's a great thing

I paid for a 1 year extended warranty on my P1, then my gearbox went. Daren't think how much I would have had to pay for a full gearbox replacement. Definitly worth the money for the warranty.

Even if you don't use it, you still get the peace of mind that you aren't going to get any nasty bills. How much would you have to pay if you're engine blew ?

Only any good if your car is standard unmodified
Other wise subaru will tell you to go **** yourself in the event of a claim.

Thumbs down Too late ...

On average it can't be good value. The total paid out must be less than the total taken in premiums otherwise they would not run the scheme. Plus all of the admin and overheads have to be covered. There will be a few winners, but many more who pay up and receive nothing.

Bit like car insurance reallly except you must have that by law.

Just paid £420 for extended warranty but was concerned as I am about to replace the BB for a Miltek one. Walldonway in Maidstone said that they would have no problem honoring the warranty with such a minor change.

Spoke to the service manager himself to confirm that they would not refuse any work to any covered part of the car, such as transmission, based on such a minor mod.

Can highly recommend Walldonway as they have been very helpful (to date)
