How do you use your scoob?
I use my MY03 STi everyday. It's my only car.
I'm lucky that I only work 2.5miles from home so apart from the detours I take to work the running costs shouldn't be too bad.
I have only had it 4 weeks and I'm averaging £15 petrol per day
I need to start going straight to work and straight home afterwards

Mine is the family car, so wife uses it for shopping, and yesterday I was carrying bags of sand around in it. We clock up 20k per year between us, which does not include commuting as I work from home and wife catches the train!
I work from home most of the time, so the MY03 STi sits on the drive under a cover.
When I have to go out because I NEED to go somewhere, I take the Citroen TD. To the office (200 mile round trip), customer meetings (motorway slogs), to Sainsburys, parking with the door-dingers when shopping, quick run to PC World / Dixons, etc....
When I go out because I WANT to go somewhere, I take the Scooby - and enjoy it.
Sometimes the Scoob goes out on business with me, just for the heck, but only if its an A road trip rather than 90% motorways.

I leave mine at home at the minute as i can get a lift to work, and the guy i come with needs his in the day, whilst i am Quality Manager and stay on site all day!
I like leaving it as the fuel consumption does my head in, and i love getting in to it at weekends, i get the new toy feeling!
Luckily my g/f can let me use her car when we move house so i can keep scoob locked up!

used to be daily, but 306 DTurbo handles the mundane now. Scoob only comes out for special occasions like, meets, events, testing or when i just fancy a good old burn through some challenging country lanes on a weekend.
it sometimes doesn't move for a couple of weeks. its great to get back into it after the Pug. even though the Pug can be fun to chuck around, the Scoob feels light and like lightening, plus now its famous it nice to be seen in it too!

Usually use it at weekends, because to insure it for business use, was going to cost an extra £75 a year. That's nice of Norwich Union Direct isn't it.
Guess what, they wont be getting my custom this year when the renewal comes in.

that's a good point. Lv don't do a limited milage policy. does anyone know if its worth me changing to a different co for such a policy at renewal time or does it make little difference to the premium?
I am in the fortunate position of being able to walk to work so the Scoob stays under cover for the duration. However, it is also my only car so it does get used at weekends and during the week as and when required ... gah ... weekend option selected

DONT NEED MINE FOR WORK. JUST USE IT WHENEVER TO SCARE MYSELF AND REMIND ME WHY I AM HERE. TO ENJOY LIFE.
YOU CANT ENJOY LIFE TO THE FULL WITHOUT BLATTING AROUND IN A SCOOBY.
USED TO DRIVE A 2 LITRE CAVALIER. THEN MY GIRLFRIENDS MUM DIED THEN MY DAD WILL SOON THROUGH CANCER. THOUGHT **** THIS AND WENT OUT AND GOT ME A MY03 WRX STI TYPE UK. I AM GOING TO LIVE LIFE THE BEST I CAN WITH WHATEVER TIME I HAVE REMAINING AND IN MY MIND YOU CAN ONLY DO THAT IN A SCOOBY.
SORRY TO GET A BIT DARK SIDE THERE.

Mine is my everyday car, but work is only 5 miles away....insurance wise it made quite a difference limiting myself to 8000 miles a year....but then i'm only 25 and only 2 years NCB!!! Means i can afford to go for a good old blat every so often (okay very often!!)...and with a new job on the horizon which i will be taking the train for, i'll be able to reduce my premium but go on more blats!!!
