Just curious - why do you want to put scoops on these vents?
They're blanked off under the bonnet, so putting scoops on (assuming you don't blank them off too) is going to make serious changes in the under-bonnet temperatures. If you doo blank the scoops off, they'll probably get ripped off the bonnet at high speed.

looks would spring to mind.

Some users fit a cold-air induction kit and could do with a little more forced air. That's why some induction kits are fitted inside of a closed box to help force the air into the induction kit.

Removing the blanks on a std Impreza has been known to raise under bonnet temps quite some bit and cause hot spots.

It's beneficial with certain mods though.

Mmmmm,

I would be very interested to hear more on this, I put them on due to an induction kit fitted and to increase the cooler air into the engine bay. I was not aware of this possable "hot spots" contition.

Any more info would be good.

There was a thread about this last week (or possibly the week before). Do a search and you'll see the reasons.

Harvey did some tests using proper measuring equipment and found it did increase under bonnet temps on a completely std UK Turbo.

To summarise, removing the blanks causes air that normally flows over the engine an out under the transmission area to be disrupted enough to raise the temps. Whether this causes problems all depends on what mods are in-place or other cold-air supplies are used to overcome the problem.

Certainly didn't look good if a std car removed them and left it alone.
