Default Disklok - 1 Thieves - 0

Hi peeps,
just been talking to a mate who says some C**NTS tried stealing his 95 WRX from his drive - popped the drivers lock but they couldnt get past the disklok.....
He said they had tried to lift it off the steering wheel with no luck, then they must have tried to seperate it from the middle by sticking screw drives in it as it looks as though it has been stabbed.....
only thing is he may need to buy another steering wheel as when they 'played' with the disklok they have bent the steering wheel....
best £80 he has spent on the car

Raf.
p.s. the car was only imported a month ago so he didnt have time to get an alarm/immobiliser fitted yet.

Pity he didn't catch the *******s, then he could have bent the disklok over their heads.

Andy.

Buy one from Costco and I think they're only £35 - £40.

Dipole Lock is easier to use, not sure if there is anyway around it whatsoever apart from putting the car on a flat bed trailor!

I think just seeing the damn thing would put most thieves off straight away but i guess you will always get the "have a go" ones I have one and always put it on, i swear by mine

I got the place I bought my car from to fit one in the week between me looking at my car and going to pick it up. It only takes a day to fit a good one.

failing that I think there only £60 in Halfrauds™.
the silver one is nice, the yellow one more visible.

And another tip when using a disc-lok is ....make sure you put the steering to full lock(towards the kerb is better),then if access is gained your car cannot be towed straight
or put onto a trailer very easily.
The car would have to be winched and believe me it's not easy with wheels on full lock!! (i found this out when trying to recover damaged cars with bent/damaged steering)

I would be worried about 240 volts going through the 'frail' subaru electrics!!

Good Tip, Never thought of that.

The diskloc was one of the first things i bought for my scoob, bit big and bulky but worth it.

My mate always says 'how can you be bothered putting that on all the time' - just said you do it so regular you forget and it becomes routine.

Well worth the money IMO - good visual f-off to the low level scum.

Thumbs up

After asking around and reading a few threads on here I went out this lunch time and bought one. They were on offer at Halfords at £65. No costco nearby as far as I know.

My dad saw it tonight when I called round and told me I am being paranoid
