the top speed is 144 is there anyway of getting more out of it? is it limeted to 144 or is that just top speed?

 

It's not limited, so more bhp will give more top speed.

 

is it not more to do with the gearing and the final drive then bhp

 

PPP Takes it to 157 according to Prodrive.

With due respect - why the hell do you want it to do more than 144?? Improve acceleration or driveability, yes, but top speed figures in this category are pretty academic?

On track days?

I know in the summer they have a day at Elvington with a HUGE straight - last year I was hitting 135 (gps) in my Civic Type R and there was a guy there in a skyline (500bhp) who was getting up near 180mph...

On the road there is no point though unless you like the view from a prison cell.

I think the top speed for a car at the Elvington 1.2/1.25 mile speed check was 209 mph
It was a Nissan Skyline.
