Default PPP (WRX)

Had my WRX for a week now and already I want the PPP.

But before I go and get it fitted I want to know how much noise increase is there?

At the moment I consider the car near silent so I want to atleast hear the exhaust note - at the moment I can only hear the whistle of the turbo and thats it.

Does anyone have a sound clip of std and PPP?

Ta

believe me you'll hear the exhaust note of the PPP

It's not overpoweringly loud but you hear it a lot more than standard

If i can ill try and make a sound clip of my PPP exhaust, can get you a spl reading for the exhaust if thats any use?

I've took a SPL reading in the garage and it was 96db ,next time i get the car out ill take another reading.
I tried taking a sound recording but i only have one of them voice recorders and it came out crap...

Have you been on scoobyworld they have some sound clips on there, not of the PPP but you get an idear.

Cheers thanks for your help.

96dB is a nice level - not too loud and not too quiet.

What RPM / Distance was that at?

Wink

If you want the sound, but not the BHP/torque/insurance hike, go for the Prodrive rear box (oval, costs £350). Got one on my MY00 turbo - sounds lovely. Rattles the radiator in our front room through a cavity wall.
