Dunno if this is the right section... but one of the only things that p**s me off with my00 classic... is the scratches down the windows...
I imagine this is due to the fact of the classic running pilliar less doors... no frame around the top... so dirt must drag up and down the window when in operation... hence the lines up and down my windows... Is this a common thing, Or is this just on my classic...???

lol...Does my head in... it's not as if I let it get megga dirty... washed on average 2 times a week... It's well loked after... just dreding the summer drivin' around with windows up everywhere so I don't scratch them more... thank god for air-con...

 

I had a drivers side window replaced under warranty because of this. Apparently they have some better window guides now that don't cause the scratches.

 

Its the window guides.

I also had a drivers window replaced under warranty but 3 weeks later the scratches were back

Now i've got scratches and no warranty LOL

 

I had all passenger glass replaced twice on my MY00, really pi$$ed me off that they couldnt even design proper window guides!!!!

 

I found this very strange when I had my Impreza. The 4 windows on my UK MY98 were all scratched (no warranty). Then my mate got a MY95 STi Type RA from Japan and all his windows were perfect, no scratches. Maybe the weather is better in Japan with less rain so dirt, grit etc. isnt sprayed up on the windows as much?

His windows were manual though (being an RA), maybe this has something to do with it too?

Have a Lexus IS300 now so it doesn't bother me anymore although it was one thing that really annoyed me when I had the scoob.

MY98 got a nice 3/4 inch wide scratch right up the drivers door window

I've got scratches on every door window... and it looks w**k... really pi*ses me off... its only 4 years old... yet every other car I've owned... I've never had any scratches like these on them... there a sh*t design... I think if I was to replace them (4) I'd never use them again... just to avoid scratching them again!!!

 

Hey, hows everyone, I've just purchased a scooby wrx and every damn window has a scratch on them, but the front 2 windows are the worst all the way up and smack bang in the middle, i was wanting to tint the windows but i'm worried it'll make the scratches show up even more? has anyone tinted their scratched ones

 

I thought about this, but I figured it would show the scratches up even more, so decided against it.

It's not just the scoobs. I've owned several different cars with pillarless doors, every single one of them had scratches on the glass.....
