is there any way of makeing a scoob rear wheel drive only as u would or should make up a lot of lost power though the drive system???

Yes, it's theoretically possible, but why would you want to? The whole point of the Impreza's drivetrain is that it's AWD, and the whole car is designed around it.

Why bother converting one to 2WD when you could simply buy a fast RWD car that's optimised for this transmission configuration?

What makes you think that "a lot" of power is lost through the extra diffs and driveshafts? Rolling road figures indicate quite high power losses through the drivetrain, but these aren't anywhere near accurate.

 

So you'd make up for a large transmission loss....


...but errr... go buy a RWD car with a big engine that was developed for RWD

even tho it does it very well.
got it 4 loads of other resons 2.


ive put mine on the rollers and if im reading it right i have lost 87bhp from the fly wheel that sounds a hell of a loss

i did have a calilbra turbo 4x4 which was only front wheel drive and it seemed 2 go better?

 

That's grossly inaccurate; there's nowhere near that much loss through the transmission. This is one of the problems with 4WD rolling roads, none of them gives a truly accurate indication of transmission loss.

You had a Calibra Turbo 4x4 which was only FWD? There seems to be a contradiction implied in that statement.

If you wanted a two wheel drive car, you would have been far better off buying a two wheel drive car. Buying a car that trades specifically on its four wheel drive configuration and then asking about converting it to RWD seems a bit ärsë about tit.

the calibra was a 4x4 but had some sort of problem with the transfer box
which ment it was ony now running fwd
