RE010 or S-02?
#1
Hi folks,
I have found my RE010s to be very soft at the track. How have you found these to compare performance and price-wise with S-02s?
Also, will pagid pads fit the MY99 turbo?
Thanks,
Simon

Hi Simon
The SO2's are not recommended for the Impreza on 16" rims, but are streets ahead of anything when fitted to 17's.
Pagid do make pads for the Subaru 4 pot and these are used by virtually every group N team. The Blue (RS4-2) spec work perfectly well from stone cold but will not fade until 650 degC.

I can't comment on 16's, as I have only experimented with 17's.
Having re-read your first post, I need to qualify my first post.
SO2's are my prefered road tyre, but are much too soft for a dry track. Michelins are the kings of dry tarmac and 1000 miles of Catalunya's finest roads were dispensed without any over heating or slipping. The car felt like Scalextric had built it. As good as these are in the dry, their aren't so clever in the wet. I reckon they were costing me 5 seconds at lap at Oulton Park, where it poured down.
I now use SO2's for the road and wet tracks and slicks for dry tracks. This is the best of both worlds and saves a fortune in tyre wear.

It seems like I'm flying in the face of public opinion, but I changed my RE010's for S-02's on 16" and I think they're great!
The S-02's hold like snot to a blanket round tight roundabouts.
Not cheap mind, but very tasty..
(Tread pattern is very sexy too)
